Resident Evil 5 – maybe the most anticipated horror game coming in 2009 is going to be even more scarier than we thought.

Capcom released some images from the game, and guess what… Zombies can drive on on Bikes!

Only Thinking about it gives me the chills.

Pure Review

Posted in Reviews with tags , on September 29, 2008 by azachi

SSX is  the best extreme racing game out there – featuring amazing tricks, detailed environment, fast paced racing and a satisfying single player campaign. Pure In my opinion till PURE there wasn’t any fair successor BUT… this is all about to change.

Beware!!! You are about to enter a world of PURE fantasy.

This is the warning that appears at the beginning of the game – PURE fantasy.
The game deals with extreme racing of ATVs.
The game brings perfect infusion between tricks and racing – like SSX used to do.

This time EA is not the one responsible for this game… but… Disney (?!)…
Yes – Disney. The guys from Mickey Mouse brought us one of the best racing games this year.
At first i didn’t believe that Disney can deliver an experience that will be good for casual and hardcore racing gamers (like me) – but (and I’m really glad I can say this) – I was totally wrong.

Pure is intended for all levels of gaming.
If you are master of racing then you will be able to pull out some great tricks and just burn the track.
If you are casual gamer you will build yourself throughout this game.

Pure delivers fantastic graphics, whether its PC, Xbox 360 or PS3, the game looks amazing. The drifts in this game looks amazing – you can see the dirt coming of you rear wheels.
The best map visually-wise isn Thailand – where several jumps brings you to such heights, where you can see the bright ocean and its surroundings – gorgeous…

The best thing in Pure is the Gameplay but it has it’s flaws.
The gameplay is very basic – not something special at all.
One button for gas one button for brakes. There are more button combinations for pulling out tricks, but they are simple and easy to remember.

In a game that is all about the tricks you can pull off while in the air, there is an extra value for doing them.
Each trick you will preform will grant you extra boost. If you repeat the same trick more than once, you will get less and less boost for each time you doing it, so it’s better using different variations of different tricks.

Another cool thing in the trick system is trick’s difficulty.
In the beginning of each race you will be able to execute only simple tricks and as you earn more juice and boost by preforming those simple tricks, you will unlock more difficult levels of tricks – which naturally takes more time to execute, gives you more boost and are more exciting visually. This is one of the more nicest things in Pure’s trick system – the boost management. The decision if to use the boost now or if to wait and build it for access to more difficult tricks.

There are four difficulty levels of tricks the every level is represented by a different button.
The fourth and last level is called is a special trick. Each one is sicker than the other… If it’s standing on your ATV doing air guitar moves, doing a somersault and then sit back and more.

Unfortunately, the game has his share of glitches.
First of all, if you land on someone you will just stay on top of him until you or him will manage to get away… But there is a possibly that you opponent will carry you a large portion of the track.
The second thing is the surroundings. If you take a jump and land outside the track, you might find your racer suddenly leaves the ATV and commit suicide…
Except for those two minor glitches the game runs almost perfectly.

In single player mode – World Tour – you travel around the world, participating in different races in order to become the best of the best.
You start with a basic ATV and earn new parts that will improve your ATV with each win. Eventually, you will create a monster ATV.

The creation process of the ATV is very fun for the first time. You get to build your ATV from scratch. You get to choose every part and it’s color.
Slowly you will see your ATV taking form in front of your eyes.

For those of you who doesn’t want to waste your time on building, can tell the game what is the purpose of the ATV (tricks or speed) and the game will create the ATV for you.
Speaking of choice between tricks and speed – this choice will have a major effect on your perfermance doing laps and in order to succeed you must create several models – some for tricks and some for speed.

Pure have three game modes.

Race – the standard laps mode.
Sprint – much like Race mode but with shorter laps.
Freestyle – you get points for each trick you pull. You can collect special orbs to get more gas, boost and points. Freestyle mode ends when your gas tank drains to zero.

To sum things up, Pure might be the best racing game in 2008 and one of the best of all time (we should wait and see what Motorstorm 2 has to offer).
Sure, it has it’s glitches and bugs but the overall game delivers a brilliant experience that is a must have for both casual and hardcore racing fans and gamers.

No Fable 2 Online Co-Op at Launch

Posted in General News with tags , on September 28, 2008 by Yogev

Fable 2 won’t have online co-op at launch day and will support only local co-op play.

Online co-op was one of the main attractions of Fable 2 so this story is pretty weird…

10 Things That Would Make My Xbox 360 a Perfect Machine

Posted in Articles, Xbox 360 with tags on September 28, 2008 by azachi

I love my 360, but…

Microsoft will have to do some changes and improvements with the Xbox 360 if they want it to become the best gaming console available.

Here is my list of 10 things that would make my Xbox 360 a perfect machine:

Full online service for free – I know – this is Microsoft’s major source of income if Sony can make it work, so can Microsoft. Even if they will have to raise the price of the console, I think this is one of the most important things to have…

Larger DVDs – It’s not likely we are going to see the use of Blu Ray by Microsoft in the near future – they won’t pay Sony to be able to use a Blu Ray drive. Microsoft needs to start using Pioneer’s new media which is a DVD blank media which can contain up to 100 Gb of content. Many companies that develop games for the Xbox 360 have problems with the limited space of the Dual Layer DVD media (only up to 8.5 GB of content).

More file types support – I know, Microsoft only wants to promote their Windows files formats but as we know some of them are not that popular… In order to play certain media files on the 360 we need to convert them… it’s a pain.

More free stuff on the MarketPlace – It’s very rare to find a really nice new free theme. A lot of people don’t want to pay money for themes, and are still using the Gears of War theme or some default theme they got with the console. Another solution is to release a tool that allows creating your own themes (and not that lazy one picture theme you can create now).

Get more exclusives, buy Sony’s exclusives – A large amount of the Xbox’s exclusives are not as good as we expect them to be (Too Human jumps to mind) but Sony have many fantastic exclusives (God of War, Resistance, Little Big Planet, Uncharted, MGS4). Microsoft needs to get more Xbox 360 exclusives (that will not be released on the PC later). Like what MGS4 did for the PS3.
Another thing is to get a hold on Sony’s exclusives. If Microsoft wants something, they have enough money to buy it… Final Fantasy is coming to the Xbox 360. What about more games? We want to see Tekken 6 on the 360!

More third party accessories support – The Xbox 360 is mainly designed to support Microsoft’s accessories like headphones, the wireless network adapter, cables, driving wheel etc. Microsoft’s stuff cost a lot of money in comparison to their competitors. In order to have an accessorized console you will have to spend a lot of money… a lot…

Focus on what you are good at – The Xbox 360 is the best console for shooters. The sticks and triggers are designed perfectly for shooters. Instead of paying companies to develop more RPGs Microsoft needs to pay them to create more good and unique shooters!

NO RROD – The Xbox 360 is infamous for the RROD (Red Ring of Death) problem. The newer versions of the XBOX 360 don’t get them as much as the older version, but the RROD is still here… Please… Microsoft… Make us a RROD free version of the XBOX 360.

Easy charge for the controllers – Charging the controller through a simple USB connection like PS3and not through charged batteries or anything like this would be amazing…

Quiet Please! – We’re all aware of a big problem with the Xbox 360 – it’s noisy. When you turn on the console its calm and nice, but when you start playing its like an airplane is about to land on your house.

The Xbox 360 is a great gaming machine, but another push from Microsoft can determine which console will win the war this generation.
