Final Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition Details and Screenshots

First teased last week at CES 2009, the Collector’s Edition will be available on day one of the game shipping Friday, March 13, 2009 – for a limited time only. Gamers can already pre-order the collectible set starting today at the Capcom store at www.capcom.com.

On launch date, the set will be available at all major retailers in North America with a price of $89.99 for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3.

The box will include a Tricell messenger bag, Chris Redfield figurine, BSAA patch and Kijuju-inspired pendant. Bringing the entire collection together is a custom made steel case with special art showcasing signature elements of the RE5 campaign – the Kijuju writings, ominous number five and two-player co-op. Inside the steel case will be a two disc set including the game and bonus disc with additional special features. The Making of Resident Evil 5 feature, first shown at the TGS 2008, will be released on the bonus disc for the first time.

Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition and EU Release Date Confirmed

Capcom has confirmed that there will be a Limited Edition version of Resident Evil 5 when it hits stores on Friday the 13th of March 2009. Capcom confirmed only the PAL version release date and limited edition, but i’m sure North America will be the same. The Limited Edition will come in a steelbook case and with a bonus DVD disc containing exclusive behind the scenes footage of “making of…” and a special edition trailer of the Resident Evil: Degeneration. The PS3 and Xbox360 Edition will be the same and will also be released at the same time.

Call of Duty: World at War Special Edition Announced

Activision has announced the special collector’s edition for Call of Duty: World at War.

The package will be priced at $80 and will include:

• Call of Duty: World at War game
• World at War branded canteen
• FG 42 Machine Gun available on Day 1
• One week of Double-XP
• Colored Clan Tag (In-game multiplayer character indicator)
• Stylish tin box to place above-listed treats

Special $150 Editions of Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space Are Coming

Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space are both bringing special $150 edition limited packs.

Mirror’s Edge will come with a Timbuk2 exclusive Mirror’s Edge branded messenger bag with the game

Dead Space’s rare limited edition (only 1,000 are being produced) will include a copy of Dead Space, special packaging, bonus content, the animated “Downfall” DVD, lithograph artwork, an art book, graphic novel and an actual Ishimura crew patch.

New Cool Details on the Limited Edition for the New Prince of Persia

As you can see above, the box art for the new Prince of Persia game was revealed and we got some very cool info about the Limited Edition of that game.

Ubisoft has announced that everyone that already preordered the game or will preorder in the future will get a a free upgrade to the Limited Edition version of the game – thanks Ubisoft!

The Limited Edition will include collectable Limited Edition packaging, an exclusive look at the making of Prince of Persia, a Prima digital mini-strategy guide, a digital art book that chronicles the game’s journey from concept to winner of Best Artistic Design at E3 2008, the original soundtrack scored by master composer Inon Zur.

Also, Penny Arcade will create a 32-page comic book for this new game.
I’m not sure if it will be available online for free or if it will be shipped the game (or just the limited edition packaging).

New Resistance 2 Collector’s Edition Details

The new Resistance 2 collector’s edition details surface on Amazon.
Here are the details:

• Resistance 2 video game + Bonus DVD with behind the scenes video, video commentary by Insomniac Games and “Twisted History” chronology video.
• Exclusive in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer skin
• A sneak peek at the upcoming Resistance novel, “Resistance: The Gathering Storm”
• Exclusive 5.5″ Chimera Hybrid action figure with Bullseye weapon
• Double-sided Resistance art book covering a war-torn America from two unique perspectives.

All those bonuses sounds pretty cool.
I’m still waiting for the image of this little “Chimera Hybrid” statue.

Fable 2 Gets a Release Date, Pre-Order and Limited Edition Details

Lionhead (the company that is developing the game) has set the release of Fable to October 21.

If you pre-order the game you’ll be able to participate in the Fable II Pub Games available via Xbox Live on August 13th. This will allow you to earn some gold for the beginning of the game.

The limited edition will cost $80 and will include:

• Bonus DVD – Includes new ‘Making-of Feature’ with Peter Molyneux and the team at Lionhead Studios and concept art viewer

Pricing and Packaging for SOCOM: Confrontation Revealed

The official Socom website has posted the final release plans for SOCOM: Confrontation.

The game, as published before, will be out on October 14 and will come in three versions:

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (Bundle Version) – $59.99
Includes SOCOM Confrontation, a newly designed Bluetooth® Headset for the PLAYSTATION®3 system and exclusive Behind the Scenes videos.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (Stand Alone Version) – $39.99
For all of the people who want SOCOM: Confrontation on a disc.  Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation on the PlayStation Network – $39.99
SOCOM Confrontation downloadable from the PSN without ever leaving your couch. Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos.

Seems Weird that the pricing for the stand alone version and the PSN version is the same…
When you buy the game in the store and you have a physical copy of the game for trading or just for backup…
When you get the PSN version you only get an option to download the game up to five times…
